So if you haven’t heard by now The Lady Blues of Washburn are NCAA Div II National Champs. I know I’m late in reporting this wonderful news but I had to spend that night celebrating and drinking. Then I had to spend the next few days contacting every KU fan I knew and saying, “HA HA Your team sucks!!! They just don’t suck. They REALLY SUCK BAD!!! The few KU fans that I have missed including you mason. HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!! OH YEAH THE BLUES KICKED YOUR TEAM ASS AS WELL AS TAKING THE CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

OK time for a rant sorry but that’s what happens when I get bored unfortunately y’all will just have to suffer through it I’m sure you will all survive. First off I HATE NOT HAVING A PHONE!!! It sucks! I miss out on all the interesting stuff going one. I miss all my messages and don’t get them till like 3 days later it sucks. I got a new phone on ebay today but it won’t get here for another few days AAAAHHHhhhh!!! :( (PS Traffas that’s right I’m using exclamation points! They are there to be used. so use them, it’s fun)

Also future bloggers beware, apparently if you take a little time off from blogging on this site you end up getting harassed by the upper management. :< http://www.illwillpress.com/ many of you already know of foamy the squirrel and his escapades. If for some reason you aren’t go check it out and laugh till you end up in the ICU of your local hospital. Well have fun and take care ya’all and find a good name for your band. Vote Wayne for Webmaster!

It’s electric

Well, Jim has convinced me that it’s time for me to make my triumphant return to the world of the electric guitar. I think it’s more like a bunch of friends pushing the gullible guy off the cliff - or off the rocker. In any case, it’s going to be a rock show at our monthly railing, or, rather, our monthly show at the Rail, tomorrow night.

I’ll be playing a solo, acoustic show at Bobby T’s on April 7. It’s been a while since I played in Manhattan, so it should be a good time.

We’re still running the *NAME THE BAND CONTEST*. We’ve had some good suggestions so far, as well as some bad ideas. We’ll be running the contest for a few more weeks, so send name suggestions to band@aarontraffas.com. Be sure to leave your name and valid email in the message if you want to be eligible for the prize. If you submit the selected name, we’ll buy and send you three CDs of your choice from http://www.lonestarmusic.com/, not to mention a free CD and T-shirt from us once we have them ready. We’ll post the runners up on the website.

Broken glass

Mike and I had a terrific time at Buster’s Saturday. I was still getting over my cold, so I had no top end vocally and every time I swallowed it felt like a bolus of broken glass. Having said that, the crowd was quite forgiving and I got to see many, many old friends. As I was lamenting to family after the show, that’s all I got to do: see everyone. I’ve got to find a different line of work that will allow me to actually go and talk to everyone I’ve missed.

Or, perhaps not.

For those of you who don’t get the newsletter and who haven’t yet checked out the new band log from Chris “Deinesaur” Deines, we’re running a contest over the next couple of months. If you have a suggestion for a name for the new band, send it to band@aarontraffas.com. We’ll sort through them and pick a winner when we get around to it. The winner not only reserves one of the first copies of our new CD and T-shirt, but we’ll also send the winner three CDs from lonestarmusic.com.

Jim bought a new amp. Says I have to play electric through it Friday. Considering how many people haven’t habitually come to our shows, there’s actually a pretty good chance I’ll get to do it. For those of you who do decide to come, you’re in for either a treat or an early night back from the bars. We’ll see. I haven’t seriously played my electric since my Emotional Feedback days in high school, and it’s going to be difficult learning again.

As a great man once said, “big ones line up, little ones gang up.”

You’ll hear from me.

PHP Nuke 7.5

Not that anyone cares, but Chivalrous Productions just upgraded my site to PHP Nuke 7.5. It’s more secure and it shouldn’t be hacked by irate Islamic hoodlams like Captain Rob’s was recently.

On the gaming front, I just dropped a 50 bomb. I think I’m playing too much.

Buster’s is going to kick ass tomorrow night. I hope I get well enough in the next 18 hours.

GO BLUES!!!!!

Well lets see how many Kansas University Bball teams made it to the Championship game? KU? No they sucked pretty bad and lost first round. Ku ladies? nope again. KState? No both their teams didn’t even make it. Emporia? nope maybe next yr. I know FHSU. Oh Wait…. No that was 1996 my bad. OH YEAH!!! IT WAS WASHBURN’S LADY BLUES!!!!!!!! Tonight in a nail biting game against Central Arkansas’ Sugar Bears, the lady blues pulled ahead to a capture a 2 point victory. They are now going to play Saturday for the NCAA Div 2 CHAMPIONSHIP! GO BLUES!! It’s going to be a VERY good game everyone should watch it on ESPN 2 at 5pm Saturday. Tonight we drink in honor of the Lady Blues’ victory and we get trashed in the hope that our willing sacrifice of our brain and liver cells will in some way to help give the Lady Blues the inspiration, support and determination to bring home the championship trophy with them to Topeka.

Also in other not quite as important news. Since many of you just kind of blow off things Aaron says, I’m guilt as well, but if you didn’t get his email, or you just tossed it without actually READING it, then here is an update. THE BAND NEEDS A NAME!! Preferably a good one. So if you have a good idea mail it to us at band@aarontraffas.com know your thoughts. Don’t be afraid of us thinking that your idea sucks. True it could really suck, and we may all look at it and say what the hell was this person thinking, but we will pat you on the head and say good job that’s a good idea and send you on your way. Why would we do something like this? It’s because we like our fans and we like our fans to bring their friends to our shows. We hope that our fans’ friends will become fans and bring their friends to our next shows. Besides there isn’t much that we think is crap. Aaron’s first idea was Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot (WTF). I still think we should be called Aaron Traffas with Anal Leakage. After all hanging with Mason and myself for long periods of time can cause adverse side affects. So send us your ideas no matter how screwed up they may seem. Remember the email address is band@aarontraffas.com.

Oh Yeah! GO BLUES, GO BLUES, GO BLUES!!!!!!!!!!!

I was watching Letterman last night, through the fuzzy snow caused by my rigged antenna array propped up between my TV and my nightstand. He had some blonde actress headline and then moved on to his second guest, Brian Greene. Greene, for those of you who don’t know, just released a book entitled “The Fabric of the Cosmos : Space, Time, and the Texture of Reality”. Before, after, and during Greene’s interview, Letterman was criticizing him for his intelligence, laughing at the perceived trivialities of the subject matter, and generally harassing him. It was absolutely disgusting, and I’ve always been a fan of David Letterman. Now, as I consider it, I don’t believe my opinion of Letterman will change as it should. Because this dismissal of science, especially experimental physics, has become so commonplace, the behavior is almost expected. If I were to begin using scientific trivialization as a litmus test for those whom I would no longer respect or patronize, I’d end up with a pretty short list. Can you imagine how better this world would be if the common attitude was one of admiration for people like Greene, rather than that of ridicule?

Stoney was great Thursday
Had [Jeremy] Watkins with him
Pleasant surprise

Saw the Legends on Saturday

20050322
Mason sat in
Or sat on
Good to see him get to play with his old man

I took yesterday off
I feel like I lost a fight
Loaded up on Nyquil, Campbell’s, and orange juice
Headed back to the chamber after the log
Better to get sick now and be over it by this weekend

So Yeah, It’s Spring Break, or at least thats what I’m told. It sure as hell doesn’t feel like a break. I’m still busy, I still have to work and I’m not going anywhere cause I’m STILL BROKE!! so where is the break?? I guess its just another one of those things that I just won’t figure out. At least I don’t have school I should be happy about that at least.

Well while wondering through the web about 2am yesterday i discovered a rather interesting and funny site. When you have time go and check out this site. www.jibjab.com It has some very funny flash skits. In other news I have started playing Command and Conquer Generals online and its quite refreshing a human opponent for a change. If you don’t have Generals with teh zero hour expandion you need to go out and buy it cause it is one of the best strategy games to date. well thats about it for now so ya all have fun.

I had an absolute blast last night at Harbour Lights. Thanks to Chris Goering, Kyle Fowler, Beth Younger, Mason Powell, and that nice girl who just moved up from Texas for coming out, sticking around, and bringing all your friends. We put a couple more shows on the books so I’ll be back to Lawrence in late April.

I’m looking foward to seeing Stoney LaRue tonight at Longhorns. Deines is trying to get me to bail on the concert and go drink with him in Topeka. At least, he was last night I think. Miss an acoustic Stoney show in my state? Riiiight. What better way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day than with red dirt country music?

Overtime is good. Lack of time caused by it isn’t.

I’m playing at Lawrence tonight on Mass. St. at Harbour Lights for any of you in the area.

Don’t forget about the huge 26 March, last-weekend-of-spring-break-plus-Easter-Saturday-and-I-know-everyone-will-be-looking-to-party-after-mass-on-Saturday extravaganza: the show so big I have to bring help in the way of guitarist Michael Kisner. Should be fun, folks. I’ll remind you.
