I’m getting ready to head to Emporia
Going to rock the Wagon Wheel tonight
Awe them with my brilliance

Actually, I’m probably going to focus more on remembering how to play the guitar than aweing

I got an email today asking me if the band needed a piano player. This is my cousin, Tyson. They grow up fast these days.

Update

Well, school is about to kill me, I play too much music but beyond that I’m great. It will all be over after next semester though. In other new, I’ve started another recording session project with a band called Big Stack Daddy. I’m recording drum tracks for a song called "Peace Song". It is with some real knock out musicians. I like these guys alot. Keep your ears open for this tune on the radio. I’m recording the tracks on April 14th and hopefully they’ll be radio ready soon after.

Slipping away

Time has seemed to do that a lot lately. Of course I did type out an entire blog about a week ago only to have the internet connection slip, slip away with it.

A lot has happened since the last time I blogged.

First of all, I am going to be a Razorback next year. I have been offered and have accepted a position as Assistant Professor of English Education and Literacy at the University of Arkansas. No, for the record, I do not own a tweed jacket with leather elbow patches. I may look into one though just to silence the commentary. I am excited about this opportunity and am looking forward to Fayetteville.

Second of all, several people have asked about my continued involvement with the ATB. As of right now, I can say this. I want to continue to be involved with the Aaron Traffas Band. I believe in these guys and think there are a lot of great things ahead. The extent of my involvement will obviously be different than it is now as I am moving 51/2 hours away, but as I said, I plan to be involved.

In the meantime, there are several shows scheduled in April and early May. I would imagine more will follow. I hope to see you all out somewhere, sometime soon.

Till then,

IU

So I’m laying here in my hotel room in Bloomington, Indiana, getting ready to go to Nick’s bar. I’m watching the IU / UCLA basketball game and actually not hating basketball as much as I usually do. It’s actually a great game, with 2 minutes left. I find myself actually going for IU.

It’s about time to go steal auction secrets.

the best place to make this announcement but I am here and I am making it.

At no time during any Aaron Traffas Band shows should anyone be self piercing their bodies or helping their friends with piercings. We have had several reports of this type of activity going on in the bathrooms and between tables at recent shows. This is not only disgusting but also against public health codes which govern the various places we play. Body piercing will not be tolerated and any violators will be asked to leave the premises immediately. If you would like to pierce yourself, you need to do that at home, in your kitchen, in front of your mother. Thanks for your immediate cooperation on this matter.

Getting ready for the big show tomorrow night at Biggitty-Bobbitty T’s. The power acoustic treo that is the ATB will be pushing our subs with a new amp. Mason’s kick is going to hurt. Come for the fun. Bring a friend. Drink some beer. Watch Aaron detox.

I’m trying the great experiment - no beer, coffee, or tobacco for 40 days. We’ll see how good this lent thing treats me. Come Easter Sunday, though, I’ll be tapping a keg and opening roll over morning Folgers.

We booked a huge house to sell. 4 acres and a huge shop, no to mention a house that is nicer than any I’ve seen. It’s never been occupied. I confess I actually got out my Treo and punched up the monthly payments. Not pretty. Guess I won’t be a home-owner any time soon.

Going to see Blaine tonight at Pat’s. Come out, come out wherever you are.
