It looks like I got credit for G’s post both in Facebook and on Twitter. Perhaps Rob’s right. Perhaps Twitter sucks. I figure it’s a very limited time until someone like Paris Hilton starts using it, causing everyone with less than half a brain to follow her, bringing Twitter to it’s poorly-designed knees. Get it while it’s hot.

Twitter does have one redeeming quality. When used properly, like Facebook, it helps keep users up-to-date with others’ activities, reducing the time spent on actual human contact. Human conversation is inherently wasteful. I can waste 30 - 60 seconds on a phone call to Lucas, only to learn that he’s unavailable to go eat. I called Lucas because I already know that Diane is napping because I spent 2 seconds reading her Twitter in my RSS feed. I’m just pissed because, outside of Diane, nobody else I know uses it which makes it like playing Counter Strike without an Internet connection.

I guess now that I’ve figured out how to make log entries by email I won’t have to fall back on text messages.

Yawn. I’m up too early this morning. It’s 6:19 a.m. and I’ve been working for over an hour already. Holy shit. I just looked outside and it’s light outside. That’s depressing. There’s nothing worse than getting up early and being proud of it only to have time pass and realize everyone else is beginning to wake up. It causes me to feel ordinary again.

I’m fairly excited to go to San Francisco in a couple of weeks. I’m planning on seeing Starfleet Academy. Maybe they’ll teach me how to Twitter.

In other news, this video is unbelievable. My hat is way off to my friend Brian Simpson for this homemade gem.

The full-length sweded version of the 80s classic, Neverending Story. Created by Brandon Todd and Brian Simpson over the course of 4 weekends. I’m guessing a total budget of 25 dollars and cut using a Mac. (dang yeah)

I was reading my RSS feeds this morning. I finished with the most recent post from my friend Rob’s weblog, entitled Dream Not of Today. The blog post was entitled Boobjob. In it, he referred offhand to the “frozen wastelands of Kansas” and I thought to myself, “what a dickish thing to write about my state”. I turned off my Treo, opened the bathroom door, walked out to the living room and looked outside my Manhattan, Kansas, house.

<wpg2>2462</wpg2> <wpg2>2465</wpg2> <wpg2>2468</wpg2> <wpg2>2471</wpg2>

Sections of town were closed off that I, in my eight-year tenure in the Little Apple, had never seen closed. Limbs had fallen on cars. Windows were broken, bonnets crunched. The main power grid was offline for many hours. My sister expects power restoration in days, not hours, as a tree fell on the line coming into her house and is a lower priority than repairs that will themselves restore heat and power to multiple houses.

I was fortunate to retain power and Internet throughout the day. Spending the day coding and helping friends with their weather-induced hardships, I welcomed the relaxing, though slightly annoying, change of pace.

I just put up some more videos and pictures of stuff and other things.

It is so nice to see some hot blogging action from Aaron and Lucas! Nice work fellas. I bet the Hays show was awesome. Wasn’t that supposed to be Friday? I am still confused about that a little.

It sure was nice to see the crowd at Mike’s Sports Bar the other day. A lot of people drove down from Pratt in shaky conditions and it was a good time. If you haven’t seen Rob Spectre’s youtube of the evening, it should give you an idea.

Click here to view the embedded video.

Figured this would be a good week to post several blogs leading up to the show. Can’t wait to play with Mason-Dixon again and see if we can find the groove that we had back in….May! Might be an interesting, like a Nascar race, show. How many people really watch that crap to see the cars go in laps?

Gotta bounce,

I guess this is the final version of the log. The news modules were never really used much on the front page. News can be put up manually with the bio and the remainder of the front page. After advice from Rob, it seems I will not be using Blogger’s service. I was a member for less than 24 hours and it was buggier than Kentucky ditch weed.

My scanner sucks…mainly because I’m only giving it 12 volts when it should have 15. You can see the quality in the pictures from last Tuesday’s Fat’s open mic. Liz took the pictures and I thank her for letting me borrow them. Good shots of Barry, Burgess and me.

Well, enough writing while on the clock.

“This is cooking with Kenny…”–Pete, in Stillwater, OK, at 3:00am, while cooking bacon and eggs.

I can’t believe I’m so damn poor right at the moment…too much music and not enough hours. I’ve never had such a good two weeks. I’ve realized during the past two weeks how good my friends are and how happy I am with this musical path on which we seem to have embarked seriously sometime within the last month. Thanks to everyone who’s helped me decide how serious I want to be with music (a few: Burgess, Barry, Tyler, Jim, Pete, Weedel, Liz, Darcy, Stacie, Greg, Deines, Rob).
